FORMAT

- Gametype: 4 vs 4 (Versus)
- Campaign in play: Dead Centre, Dark Carnival, Swamp Fever, Hard Rain, The Parish



 

MATCH PROCEDURE
(changelevel command will be used to change maps)


  • No Team will be allowed to start a Match with less than four Players, which is the required minimum number of Players. If Players leave after the Match has begun, the Team may continue to play without them.
  • For each match, the campaign will be chosen via coin flip. The winner of the coin flip will eliminate a campaign followed by the opponent and back again until only one (1) campaign remains. The remaining campaign will be played.
  • Team members are required to ready up after entering the server and joining the correct side. Once everyone is ready, the match will be LIVE.
  • In the event of a tie, an Overtime match will be played. The format will be sudden death and the third map of the same campaign will be played again. If the score is still tied after the first overtime, then the overtime process will be repeated until one (1) team is deemed the winner.

 

SERVER INFO
  • The latest version of Left 4 Dead 2 will always be used.
  • The Server will be using the Read Up plugin.

 

GAME ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Client Commands: It is illegal to use any client commands that provide an advantage by altering the game environment in favour of the command user. Players are advised not to use any commands that may fall in this category. Penalties are subject to an Official’s discretion.
  • Configuration Files: Players are permitted to edit their user configuration files in the native game directory. Players are not allowed to have any other configuration files inside the native game directory. A Player who violates this rule may have all their Matches overturned depending on the severity of the violation in the judgment of an Official.
  • Outside Applications: The use of any third-party application and/or program to influence of manipulate the game environment is strictly prohibited. Any violations will result in a Disqualification of offending Players and their Team.
  • Sprays: Players will be allowed to use any of the sprays available by default within the game.
  • Models, Skins, and Sprites: All Players must use default models, skins, sprites, and sound files. If any Player is found to be using any non-standard
    models, skins, sprites or sound files they and their Team will be disqualified from the Tournament.

 

GAMEPLAY
  • Match Restarting: Once a Match has started, Teams are not allowed to restart the Match, unless a Player drops from the Server within the first minute of play.
  • Game Chat: Game chat is permitted as long as it is done in a sportsmanlike manner. All chat should nonetheless be kept to a minimum. Chat violations fall under unsportsmanlike conduct and may be disputed, resulting in an Official enforcing a Penalty.

 

SPORTSMANSHIP

All members are required to uphold and observe a universal level of sportsmanship. Any unsportsmanlike action which includes but is not limited to (Racism, Profanity, Rude Acts, Vulgar Acts, Acts of Belligerence, and Disrespect of an Official) may be reviewed and are reason for filing a dispute.

 

MEMBER NAMES
  • Member game handles containing any of the following will not be tolerated: profanity, racism, sexism, drug use, or general vulgarity. Players found with offensive names will be contacted by a tournament official and asked to edit their name to something more appropriate. If a member is found to be using a handle that is deemed offensive after being asked to have it changed by an official, that member will be issued a warning.
  • Player’s handle must contain their clan tag (ie [CLAN] Playername).

 

ILLEGAL ACTIONS IN VERSUS
  • No spitting on elevators AFTER they've started moving (i.e., clipping spit pool).
  • No skipping portions of the map or events/crescendos (i.e., no jumping down floors on Dead Centre 1, no hopping up to the off button on Parish2).
  • Blocking the path of the survivors with a car or a tree or any other movable object which prevents them from advancing is illegal.
  • Being in a position that is not reachable by regular/special zombies, or infected, as a survivor is illegal.
  • As a survivor, remaining in a position that causes an event to pause, glitch, or otherwise act outside of normal parameters is not allowed.
  • Clipping: Clipping is when a Player is either boosted through a solid layer, or when a Player manipulates him/herself so that they can see through, move, or attack through any solid entity that they typically should not be able to such as a box or wall.
  • Tank Clipping: It is against the rules for a tank to attack through walls.
  • Hunter Clipping: It is against the rules for a hunter to jump through a crack in a manner that clips through a solid layer.

 

EXPLOITS

It is illegal to intentionally utilize any game exploits. Game exploits include, but are not limited to, the exploits and violations defined in this section. For any exploits used that are not explicitly covered, Officials have discretion to determine the intention and extent of the violation and Penalty.

 

SERVER ISSUES

If a Server unintentionally crashes or is restarted while a Match is being played, all Rounds completed will count towards the final score of the Match. All remaining Rounds will be played on a new Server. This rule will continue to stand in the event of another Server crash or restart. If crashes continue, Teams should contact an Official for assistance.

 

DISPUTE RIGHTS, REQUIREMENTS & GUIDELINES
  • Dispute Process: A Team has the right to Dispute any Player(s) or Team that they feel is in violation of these Game Play Rules. A Team may Dispute up to one opposing Player per Match. All Disputes must be filed immediately with the tournament official/marshal present.
  • Discussion of Disputes: Disputes should only be handled in private between the Officials and those Teams/Players directly involved. Raising a Dispute as a public matter for the purpose of appealing, criticizing, or complaining about the verdict may result in Player or Team Disqualification and/or Match Forfeit, depending on severity and malicious intent as determined by the Official.

 

This document and all rules are subject to change at the tournament official’s discretion.
